James C. (J.C.) Richards has over 35 years of experience in real estate development and investment, including high-rise office, mid-rise office, retail, industrial/flex, multi-family housing, single family housing, land development, condominium development and conversion, health-care real estate, and hospitality sectors. His experience extends throughout the United States and in Latin America.

He is currently Managing Director of Strategic Real Property Advisors, located in Tysons Corner, Virginia. SRPA is involved in real estate development, development consulting, and investment advisory. Prior to SRPA, he served as a Fund investment Management officer of JER Partners, the real estate private equity arm of the J.E. Robert Companies, also located in Tysons Corner, from 2001 to 2009. At JER Partners, Mr. Richards managed and advised on those JER real estate investment fund investments that included a development or “value-add” component, and oversaw the firm’s due diligence process for real estate acquisitions and joint ventures. He also served as an acquisitions officer for JER’s Latin America Fund.
